CHRISTMAS AT 6A # 2
the people who know me know that i love christmas. one of my joys each year is to, after i've convinced my husband that we should have a real tree again, put up and decorate our tree. adrian's contribution to decorating the tree this year was putting the star on top at the end which means we decorated the tree together, right?
presents this year are in the usual kraft paper, but this year are tied with twine and then the gold bunting goes on. the recipients name is stamped with individual letters to the left of the tied twine. i hope you like them!

VINTAGE & WHITE

the old school map has such charm. i love it combined with the shutter, chandelier, wire chair with the sheepskin and the vintage trunk. it creates a cozy vintage feel that i could spend all day reading a book in!

HOME OF JESSICA BETTENAY
images: the design files |
this is the home of jessica bettenay and family as seen on 'the design files'.
i love the rich tone of the walls in the bathroom combined with the timber, the check floor and the white linen and vase.

i love the teepee and the windows, and the little rattan chair.

the light in the dining room is beautiful. i love the dark wood framing, the timber and metal dining set and the union jack. the flowers in the enamel pitcher are a lovely finishing touch and complete the image. the cushion in the corner is also a nice detail.

ROME # i
i love the disorder in rome that can be seen in the streetscape. while the traffic seemed similar to paris, the buildings in paris conveyed more of a sense of order and consistency which was not as clear in rome. i loved the shutters being different at every window with some open, some closed and others in between. i loved the different colours, the street lights, the details in the buildings, the pictures of mary on street corners and the strings of lights and flags.

PARIS # i
one of the things that struck me about paris when i was fortunate enough to visit in 2011 was that while the streets were chaos (i don't know how anyone drives in that city without having a car accident!) the buildings were ordered...they were all the same height, colour and style. the consistency in these things stood out for me and was something i didn't identify in the same way in the other cities we visited. more on my impression of paris later...
